Sensor Serial Numbers

Written by:

Critical Environment Technologies Canada Inc. (CETCI) has received a number of comments about the fact that we always ask for serial numbers when customers are requesting replacement sensors, circuit boards, etc.

The reason for this is that through the years, like many manufacturers, we produce different firmware / software versions on products to correct issues discovered in the field or improve performance, etc. Another issue is that as years go on, many sensor manufacturers discontinue specific sensor models. All sensors do not have the same output to the circuit board and thus the amplification in the circuit may be different to handle the replacement sensor or the sensor footprint may be different for the replacement.

If we do not get the serial number at the time of order we are unable to guarantee we are shipping you the correct sensor or part. If it arrives at the job site and it is incorrect, we are not responsible. We have just adopted a policy that we will not take the incorrect part or sensor back for credit if you are unable to give us the serial number or some sort of reference allowing us to find the serial number. These issues are very time consuming and expensive for us so we highly encourage you to provide the serial number or some sort of reference at the time of order.

If there are any questions or concerns, please contact CETCI by email (fbritton@cetci.com) or phone (+1-604-940-8741).
